Many associate it with the typical turning points of college. Go to college and you are no longer a virgin.
It seems as if many high school students deem it natural and normal to lose their virginity before entering college.

When I was young, I was unusually afraid of having sex. I remained a virgin until my second year of college, when I had protected sex with someone I had known for years and had started a relationship with.
